Big Brother: Back from the Dead is the third season of Clark Wilcox's Big Brother ORG series. The season premiered on March 25, 2013 and ended on June 2, 2013, and after 69 days inside the Big Brother house, Travis Rindler was crowned the winner of Big Brother: Back from the Dead, defeating Erik Ward in a 5-2 vote.

Format

The game began with 20 new houseguests competing alongside three former houseguests from Big Brother: Clash of the Houses -- Kristine Burleigh, Ben Powell, and Fede Saldías. For the first four weeks of the competition, the winning Head of Household would be immune from eviction, but would also nominate three houseguests for eviction. The Veto competition would then take place, where the winner(s) of the Power of Veto could decide whether to remove a nominee from the block or to keep nominations the same. After a replacement nominee is selected or not necessary, the eviction ceremony will be held, where two of the three nominees will be evicted from the Big Brother house. After the four weeks of double evictions, the game would then move back into single eliminations. If there is a tie between houseguests in the eviction ceremony, the Head of Household will be asked to break the tie.

Summary

On Day 1, twenty new HouseGuests entered the Big Brother house, and were met by three former season one HouseGuests -- Kristine Burleigh (15th Place), Ben Powell (26th Place), and Fede Saldías (25th Place). Before the first HoH competition, scandal rocked the house as returning houseguest Fede declared to the rest of the HouseGuests that he would not be accepting friend requests from any other players, leaving him isolated from the rest of the house. For the first Head of Household competition "First Impressions," all 23 HouseGuests had to rank each other from 1, being the HouseGuest they most wanted to win the first HoH to 22, being the HouseGuest they least wanted to win the first HoH. Aaron, Fede, and Greg were the only three who failed to submit rankings for the competition. After the results were tallied, Kayde became the first Head of Household. However, in a twist, two HouseGuests received safety for the week, based on where they placed in the rankings. Stephanie, who placed in second in the rankings, and Jacob, who ranked in dead last due to Fede not submitting a ranking, both received safety for the week and could not be evicted. On Day 2, Kayde nominated Christian, Curt, and Fede for eviction, as they were the three people who talked to her the least. During the Veto selection ceremony, Aaron, Jaylen, Josh, and Travis were selected to participate. On Day 4, Christian and Curt both won the "Blob Brother" Veto competition, and both used their Vetoes to take themselves off of the block. Kayde then replaced Christian and Curt with Greg and Corned Beef Hash, and both of them joined Fede on the eviction block. At the first eviction ceremony of the season, 13 of the 19 HouseGuests voted to evict Fede, making Fede the first HouseGuest evicted from the game. With six votes remaining between Corned Beef Hash and Greg, Greg received five of those six votes, making him the second HouseGuest evicted from the game.

On Day 6, nine HouseGuests competed in a semi-live cryptogram-solving HoH competition. It was an incredibly close finish, with Curt Weiler defeating Dave Ross by less than a second to become the new Head of Household. Curt then selected sitouts Hashem "Corned Beef Hash" and Kayde to receive safety for the week. On Day 7, Curt nominated Jake, Jeffery, and Kristine for eviction, stating they were the three he talked to the least. During the Veto selection ceremony, Ben, Erik, Iliana, and Stephanie were selected to compete. On Day 8, while the "Scrambled Fools" Veto competition was still taking place, George shocked the entire house by saying that he was leaving ORGs altogether, and he decided to quit the game. Big Brother then asked the remaining 20 houseguests to decide on what will happen to the future of the game, bringing up three possible solutions: 1) either making a future double eviction week a single eviction week instead, 2) keeping both double evictions for the next two weeks the same, or 3) bringing previously evicted houseguest Greg back into the house and keeping both double evictions. The majority of the house decided to have weeks #3 and #4 of the game remain double eviction weeks. Erik and Kristine then both won the Veto competition, with Erik narrowly defeating Ben by a mere four words. While Kristine used the Power of Veto to take herself off of the block, Erik used his Power of Veto to take Jeffery off of the block. Curt then replaced Jeffery and Kristine with Ben and Shine, who joined Jake on the eviction block. At the second eviction ceremony, Shine received 8 of the 16 eviction votes, making him the third houseguest evicted from the Big Brother house. With eight votes remaining between Ben and Jake, Jake received seven of those votes, making him the fourth houseguest evicted from the house.

On Day 12, the remaining HouseGuests competed in a game of "Big Brother Battleship." The competition came down to Ben and Corned Beef Hash, who were both on the final undetonated spot of the game. Because Ben detonated his own last spot, Corned Beef Hash walked away as the new Head of Household. Hash then selected sitouts Curt and Farrell to receive safety for the week. On Day 13, Corned Beef Hash nominated Christian, Jacob, and Kayde for eviction. During the Veto selection ceremony, Aaron, Iliana, Jeffery, and Wade were selected to compete. On Day 14, the eight houseguests competed in the "Simon Says" Veto competition, trying to earn the highest possible score in an online version of "Simon." Aaron and Wade both won the Veto competition, with Wade narrowly defeating Christian by just one point. Wade chose to use his Veto to take Kayde off of the block, resulting in Corned Beef Hash nominating Jaylen as a replacement nominee. Following that, Aaron decided not to use the Power of Veto, keeping the nominations of Christian, Jacob, and Jaylen the same. At the third eviction ceremony, with the information that Jacob and Christian went to the same school, Jacob received 8 of the 14 eviction votes, making him the fifth houseguest evicted from the Big Brother house. With six votes remaining between Christian and Jaylen, Christian received five of those votes, making him the sixth houseguest evicted from the house.

For the fourth Head of Household competition, nine of the remaining sixteen HouseGuests competed in a battle of who wanted HoH most. In the "How Far Will You Go?" HoH competition, the houseguests had to bid on how many weeks they could stomach a punishment. The houseguest(s) that bid the most take the punishment, while the one that bids the least is eliminated. When it came down to Erik and Wade, Wade had taken more punishments throughout the challenge, making him the new Head of Household. Wade then selected sitouts Dave and Stephanie to receive safety for the week. On Day 18, Wade nominated Aaron, Corned Beef Hash, and Jaylen for eviction. During the Veto selection ceremony, Ben, Iliana, Josh, and Kristine were selected to compete, and because Wade opted to sit out of Veto competitions until the jury, only seven houseguests competed this week. Before the Veto competition began, Big Brother announced that the houseguest that came in first place in this Veto competition would receive a special prize, which was an advantage in the next Head of Household competition. In the "Around the World" Veto competition, Jaylen came in first place, winning the Veto and the HoH advantage, while Ben came in second place, defeating Josh by a mere second. Ben chose not to use the Power of Veto, while Jaylen used it to take himself off of the block. Wade then nominated Josh as a replacement nominee, and at the fourth eviction ceremony, the vote was the closest one so far this season. Josh became the seventh houseguest evicted from the Big Brother house, with four out of nine eviction votes, and with five votes remaining between Aaron and Corned Beef Hash, Corned Beef Hash received three of those votes, becoming the eighth houseguest evicted from the Big Brother house.

After the fourth eviction, the remaining fourteen houseguests celebrated, knowing that there would be no more double evictions for the remainder of the season. Afterwards, Big Brother introduced Pandora's Box into the house, and the winning HoH's would get the opportunity to open Pandora's Box. Following the Pandora's Box announcement, eleven HouseGuests competed in the "Star Wars" HoH competition, where they tried to identify which houseguest looked like a set of celebrity lookalikes. Most of the house did poorly in the competition, but when it came down to Aaron and Farrell, Aaron won by one point, making him the new Head of Household. Aaron then selected Wade to receive safety for the week. On Day 24, Aaron nominated Jeffery and Kayde for eviction. During the Veto selection ceremony, Curt, Farrell, and Stephanie were selected to compete, and because Kayde opted to sit out of Veto competitions until the jury, only five houseguests competed this week. In the "A-List" Veto competition, Aaron dominated the competition, winning the Golden Power of Veto. He then shocked the house by using the Power of Veto to take Jeffery off the block, replacing him with Stephanie. Before the vote, drama ensued as Wade called out Stephanie for being a floater, allowing other people to do her dirty work while she sat out of competitions, while Stephanie stated she wasn't throwing comps and called it part of her strategy. In the end, at the fifth eviction ceremony of the season, Stephanie was evicted in a 5-2 vote, making her the ninth houseguest evicted from the Big Brother house, and the first female to be evicted.

After the eviction, eight of the remaining thirteen houseguests competed in a speedy competition that required them to identify 50 film titles using only the vowels in the titles and the year(s) the film was released. In a very close race, Jaylen came out victorious and became the new Head of Household. Jaylen then decided to open Pandora's Box, which allowed him to remove any two punishments he and one other houseguest incurred during the "How Far Will You Go?" HoH competition. Jaylen cancelled his vote cancellation punishment and he also chose to remove Kayde's song video punishment. Jaylen then selected sitout Kristine to receive safety for the week. On Day 28, Jaylen nominated both Ben and Wade for eviction, which left Wade furious. After Jaylen and Wade exchanged some heated words, Dave, Erik, and Travis were selected to compete in the Veto competition, which Wade could not compete in due to previously taken punishments. During the Veto competition, scandal rocked the Big Brother house, as Big Brother announced that Iliana had been competing under a fake account. Because Iliana would not disclose who they actually were, Iliana was expelled from the Big Brother house, leaving just twelve houseguests remaining in the house. In the "Spaceballs" Veto competition, Jaylen came out victorious, and he won the Golden Power of Veto. He then chose to keep his nominations of Ben and Wade the same. At the sixth eviction ceremony, after a unanimous 8-0 vote, Wade became the tenth houseguest evicted from the Big Brother house, leaving behind a slew of curse words.

In the seventh week of competition, ten of the remaining eleven houseguests competed in the "Food Feud" Head of Household competition. Because Jaylen was the only houseguest to sit out of the HoH competition, he was safe for the week, and could not be evicted. When the HoH came down to Farrell and Kristine, who both scored a 50/50, Farrell did best in the tie-breaker, and Farrell became the new Head of Household. While Farrell chose to open Pandora's Box and chose to nominate Erik and Jeffery for eviction, some houseguests believed that Farrell cheated and that his win was undeserved, as he had taken his answers from a contestant from a previous Survivor ORG. After much drama and deliberation that resulted in a Big Brother judgment call, Farrell kept his Head of Household title, due to Big Brother not announcing that taking answers from competitors in other games was against the rules. Farrell's nominations of Erik and Jeffery remained intact, and as part of the Pandora's Box twist, Farrell had to temporarily leave the Big Brother house until after the Veto ceremony. Season two veteran Carter VanHaren then entered the Big Brother house to take his place as temporary Head of Household. On Day 33, Ben, Curt, and Jaylen were selected to compete in the "1 vs. 100" Veto competition. Ben came out victorious, and chose to take Erik off of the nomination block. Temporary Head of Household Carter chose to put Travis up as a replacement nominee, but it did not matter, because at the seventh eviction ceremony, Jeffery was evicted in a 6-1 vote, making him the 11th houseguest evicted from the Big Brother house.

Entering the eighth week of competition, the ten houseguests were excited, considering after this week is finished, they will have reached the jury phase of the game. Following that, eight of the ten houseguests competed in the "Pick Up the Pieces" HoH competition. Dave was the only houseguest to complete all three jigsaw puzzles, making him the new Head of Household and guaranteeing him a spot in, at least, the jury. He then chose Farrell to receive safety for the week, meaning Farrell also made it to the jury phase. After Dave decided not to open Pandora's Box, he then nominated Ben and Kristine for eviction, citing lack of communication and the fact they were returning players as the reasons why he nominated them. At the Veto selection, Aaron, Erik, and Travis were selected to compete. In the "World of Wordcraft" Veto competition, Aaron initially came up victorious. However, due to a scheduling and timing error that some houseguests thought may have affected the results of the challenge, Big Brother held a short live challenge for the Veto winner Aaron and second place competitor Travis. In an incredibly close live challenge to determine the victor, Travis came up victorious and won the Veto competition. Travis chose to use the Power of Veto on Ben, thinking that doing so would allow Ben to make his first jury. Dave decided to put Kayde up as a pawn, because she sat out of the Head of Household competition. At the eighth eviction ceremony of the season, Kristine Burleigh was evicted in a 5-2 vote, making Ben the final returning player remaining and Kayde the final female remaining in the game. After Kristine was evicted, Big Brother announced that, because the remaining houseguests are entering part three, or the jury phase, of the competition, no more safety would be offered.

Now that the final nine reached the jury phase of the competition, safety was no longer on the table, and everybody had to compete for HoH, excluding the outgoing Head of Household, Dave. Eight of the nine houseguests then participated in the popular HoH competition "Video-Drone" from seasons past, where they would have to unscramble ten unique Big Brother-themed phrases. While it was incredibly close between four houseguests, Ben was the first to submit, making him the new Head of Household. He chose not to open Pandora's Box, and at the nomination ceremony, Ben nominated Aaron, due to his challenge wins, and Dave, for nominating him last week, for eviction. Curt, Farrell, and Jaylen were then selected to compete in the Veto competition. In the "Arrow to the Knee" Veto competition, Jaylen dominated, earning a perfect score and winning the Golden Power of Veto. However, he decided to keep both nominations the same, and at the ninth eviction ceremony, Aaron was evicted in a 5-1 vote, making him the first member of the jury.

After the eviction ceremony, the remaining houseguests (excluding Ben) competed in the "Birds of a Feather" endurance HoH competition, that tested their speed and willpower. The competition came down to Curt, Dave, and Travis, and after 24 hours, Curt and Travis were tied with 22 hours under their belts. When the tie-breaker came down to who submitted fastest, Curt was faster, making him the new Head of Household, and the first houseguest this season to win Head of Household twice. Curt then decided to take a risk, opening the final Pandora's Box of the season. The twist from the box was that Curt would only nominate one houseguest for eviction, and then at the Veto ceremony, he would announce the second houseguest nominated for eviction. At the nomination ceremony, Kayde was selected as the lone nominee. Dave, Erik, Jaylen, and Travis were then selected to compete alongside Curt and Kayde in the "Graphic Content" Veto competition. Dave was the most accurate, and he earned the Golden Power of Veto. After Dave chose not to use the Power of Veto on Kayde, Curt had to select one other houseguest, besides Dave, to go up on the block next to Kayde, and he chose Erik. After a dramatic and confusing vote, Kayde was evicted from the Big Brother house in a 4-1 vote, making Kayde the second member of the jury.

The next Head of Household competition was the first and only creative competition of the season. The remaining competitors were tasked with creating the cover photo for the upcoming All-Star season of the Big Brother series, Big Brother: Four Corners. While Dave, Erik, and Travis submitted cover photos for the challenge, the four judges unanimously agreed that Erik had the best cover photo, making him the new Head of Household. He then chose to nominate Curt, who nominated him last week, and Farrell, who gunned for his eviction last week, for eviction. Ben, Dave, and Jaylen were then selected to compete in the Power of Veto competition. In the Veto competition "Root of All Evil," the competitors had to identify villains from various novels, and Farrell came out victorious. He chose to use the Power of Veto on himself, and Erik chose to nominate Jaylen as the replacement nominee. In a long vote full of flip-flopping and voting fluctuation, Curt was evicted from the Big Brother house in a 3-1 vote, making him the third member of the jury.

In the next Head of Household competition "Gimme a Letter," the houseguests had to identify the names of 30 Big Brother US and Canada houseguests, with each letter being replaced by the value of that letter in Scrabble. Dave was the first to identify all 30, and he became the new Head of Household. He then nominated Farrell and Jaylen for eviction. At the Veto competition "Snakes in a Game," Jaylen dominated over the rest of the competitors, winning the Golden Power of Veto. He then used it to take himself off of the block, and Head of Household Dave chose to nominate Ben in his place. When it came down to the vote, Farrell knew he was in danger, leaving behind a message chastising the remainder of the house on their poor gameplay. In the end, Farrell was evicted by a unanimous vote, as he became the fourth member of the jury.

Ben, Erik, Jaylen, and Travis then competed in the next Head of Household competition, "Search and Rescue," in which they had to find the number of times "HoH" was located in a word search. Jaylen was the closest to the correct answer, so he became the new Head of Household. He then nominated Ben and Erik for eviction, and afterwards, all five houseguests competed in an incredibly difficult Veto competition, in which they had to determine the names of fifty reality stars who came in fifth place and the shows they appeared in. After correctly answering all 50 correct, Dave won the Golden Power of Veto, and he chose not to use it. Before the eviction, sparks flew between Ben and Jaylen, after Ben accused Jaylen of being a goat for people to take to the final two. In response, after Dave and Travis were deadlocked in a 1-1 vote, Jaylen voted to evict Ben from the Big Brother house, and Ben became the fifth member of the jury and the first male fifth place g.oddess in Big Brother history.

Dave, Erik, Jaylen, and Travis celebrated the fact that they made the final four, and afterwards, Dave, Erik, and Travis competed in the final four Head of Household. In a speedy trivia competition, Dave dominated, becoming the new Head of Household. However, drama ensued as Travis believed that the challenge should have been done on a live feed, and having to refresh the page on his smartphone caused him to take more time than Dave did. After trying to resolve the situation, Big Brother chose to keep the decision the same. Dave then nominated Erik and Jaylen for eviction, and immediately afterwards, the four remaining houseguests competed in the final Power of Veto competition of the season. It was close between Jaylen and Travis, but Travis won the Golden Power of Veto. With the nominations remaining intact due to Travis winning, Travis had to cast the sole eviction vote for either Erik or Jaylen. After a difficult and lengthy decision, Travis shocked everybody, announcing that he would be evicting Jaylen, the presumed goat, in order to please the jury. Jaylen became the sixth member of the jury as he was evicted from the Big Brother house, leaving just Dave, Erik, and Travis to fight in the final HoH competition of the season.

Following Jaylen's eviction, Dave, Erik, and Travis then competed in the final Head of Household competition of the season. In the first part of the HoH competition, the final three houseguests had to answer questions based on the applications that each houseguest submitted. While the competition ended in a tie-breaker between Erik and Travis, Travis was victorious, winning part one and securing himself a spot in the third part of the competition. In part two, Dave and Erik answered questions based on events that occurred during the season. Dave dominated the second part of the challenge, moving on to the third part to face off against Travis. In the third and final part of the challenge, Dave and Travis answered questions based on jury responses about the overall experiences of the six members of the jury. While the outcome was an incredibly close 9-8, Travis was victorious, earning his first Head of Household and the most important one of the season. In the event, Travis voted to evict Dave, deeming him a much bigger jury threat, leaving Erik and Travis as the final two for Big Brother: Back from the Dead.

Erik and Travis then pleaded their case to the seven members of the jury -- Aaron, Kayde, Curt, Farrell, Ben, Jaylen, and Dave. In the end, after 69 days in the Big Brother house, Travis Rindler walked away the winner of Big Brother: Back from the Dead, receiving the votes of Curt, Farrell, Ben, Jaylen, and Dave, while Erik received Aaron and Kayde's jury vote.
